Red, White, and Blue.. friend

Hey everyone! I hope you are enjoying the Sneak Peeks at The Alley Way Stamps.. Today is the last day to see what is new and do the Hop! Hope you will join us..
Well I have to tell you I was totally inspired by Danielle Daws creation she just made using some of the new TAWS stamps.. that I had to make a creation myself..

I wanted to enter this into the WOW embossing powder June Challenge.. I know it's the "best of the British" but lucky for me.. hehe.. that is the USA colors as well.. so I thought.. hmm.. how can I use the embossing powders that I have in a creative and fun way.. so I did 2 things..
First.. the middle strip of chevrons.. the red and white are embossed.. I didn't have navy blue, or I would have used that as well.. I sectioned it off and used it to make different colored little chevrons.. I love how it turned out.. I wanted this piece to stand out a little bit more so I popped it up on some pop dots.. As I was looking at it I thought.. it needed a sentiment.. so I went to my stash of red cardstock.. and NOTHING matched.. so I did what everyone would do.. improvised.. I inked up the little banner solid with red embossing powder.. then I inked up my sentiment "friend" using versamark ink. BEFORE heating I stamped the word into the dry embossing powder.. this lifted the red from the white cardstock to revile the sentiment. I like how it turned out.. then I heat embossed it! :)
I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.. HUGS

TAWS sneak peeks day 2

Yes! I have another sneak peek.. I used the new July set from The Alley Way Stamps called Alphabet Soup. I just love making cards with words all over them.. so I decided to go with a "love" theme.. I knew I wanted to use the color pink to play along with CAS-ual Friday.. so that is where the colors came from..
I really wanted that "pop" of color..
Don't forget to leave a comment here for your chance to win some more stamps :)
If you haven't had a chance to do the TAWS Blog hop.. go do it!

Love to create challenge-anything goes

A funny story that I am sure will have you thinking twice..

This is a funny story that will have you thinking twice before you go and teach your child something ;) (not really)
Liberty, my sweet Libby.. she always tells you the truth.. and sometimes you are so glad you are not in public at those moments... but just the other day.. I wasn't so lucky..  we went to an outside concert for Stretch's saxophone teacher (he is amazing) so we were parking underground (well first you have to know that Libby had double ureter surgery so we have been battling potty problems for a while now) so anyway.. we were in the car with my parents, and my dad rolls down his window to pay the man.. Lib is on the same side and rolls her window down as well.. she blurts out "HI! My name is Liberty!" the man sweetly comments "Hi, Liberty!" She said.. "I am 3, and I will be 4 on July 19th.." he continues to engage in the conversation with her.. "well that sounds like fun.." so my dad starts to drive away, and she yells out the window...."Remember..if you have to go poopy.. use the toilet!! " My face turned bright red.. I was so embarrassed.. well it gets better.. I know what could be better than that right?? So we are coming down the elevator, and the doors open. Here is this parking attendant standing there getting ready to get in.... We step out of the elevator.. and he says to her.. "Hey! Thanks for that great advice.. I had to go to the bathroom, and I used the toilet.." Yes it was one of my most embarrassing moments ever.. OH they Joys of being a parent..:)

Hope you are all having a wonderful Monday!!! :) HUGS Pin It

YES.. NEW DT members added to TAWS

Now for what you all have been waiting for.. I have to tell you this was such a hard decision to make. 70 people linked up to join the team.. and I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU to each and everyone of you.. :)

I have decided to add 4 more girls to the team.. I hope you will visit their blogs and welcome them to the TAWS family..  here they are..

"Hi Lyndal here from Melbourne, Australia.  I remember my Gran always used to ask me “What are you creating now?”  I discovered scrapbooking almost 7 years ago and was lucky enough to teach at my local store before it closed.  My supplies gathered dust until late last year when my daughter and her friend thought they’d like to have a stall at their school fair, so I offered to make a few cards – and I was hooked!  I LOVE this creative outlet and the on-line community that surrounds it.  I love CAS and punny cards so TAWS stamps are just perfect – and they are great for dressing up scrapbook pages too!  I am super excited to be invited to join the TAWS Design Team – amazingly talented ladies - and just wait to see some of the FAB stamps Alison has for you!!"

"I'm Arielle Gordon, wife to Jeff and mom to Alex (4) and Maisie Grace (2 1/2)... I work full time and craft full time (of course the craft supplies only come out when the kiddies are tucked in for the night - which only leaves 5 or 6 hours a day for sleeping - LOL!). I started stamping and blogging five years ago. I's so fun! Which is one reason I am thrilled to be a TAWS DT - Alison's images are SUPER FUN & whimsical!!! I also love cooking, playing in the sprinkler with the kids, and taking tons of pictures. I run 2 challenge blogs, colourQ and RetroSketches, and also have fun as a DT member for a few others and "hybrid decorator" for a digital scrap house. I stay busy and happy!"

"I am me. I am a wife, a daughter, a sister, and a friend. I am an artist. I am a crafter. I laugh. A lot.  I make stuff.  Lots of stuff.  And I absolutely love doing it.  That's all."

"Hi, I'm Danielle Daws and I'm thrilled to be joining TAWS DT!  I've been stamping for 4 years, and I started colouring images a couple of years ago.  My husband assures me I'm getting better at staying between the lines.  I have an unhealthy attachment to my Prismacolor pencils and I've spent far too long searching for the perfect sharpener (who knew there were so many different types?)!  Other than that, I live in Tasmania, Australia with my husband and our 5 year old daughter - she's getting better at colouring between the lines too..."

I am so excited to have each and everyone of these girls join the TAWS DT.. don't worry if you didn't make the team.. we will be adding a Guest DT member each month soon.. so look for that :)

** Wait there is more!! We have 300 followers on the blog.. so we are going to have a giveaway.. all you have to do is leave a comment on the TAWS POST HERE. I will draw a winner on Sunday! :)
Thanks for your constant support.. HUGS
