 hehe.. don't you just love paper piecing..and this little lion is so much fun! I do.. and if I can use stitching to bring out the background, that makes it almost a perfect card. :)

Dream in Color

I really wanted to play along with Cas-ual Friday's Black on Black challenge.. and my mind goes straight to a pop of color.. soo this is what I came up with..

It was super hard to not have any white "over spray" of embossing powder.. but I think it looks pretty good.. :) I used the Chatterbox sentiment set from The Alley Way Stamps to make the sentiment pop.. I cut out the word dream and used the negative space. I also added a little paper pircing to ground the word.. Thanks for stopping by..

TAWS BE Inspired #7

YES!! I NEED this bag.. I am in love with it.. :) well it's that fun time again TAWS BE Inspired Challenge.. and what better way to BE Inspired then by rays, and a purse.. right? Here is what I came up with..

Well of course I took the rays as my inspiration.. I also used the oval and created a circle behind the flamingo to help ground her. I wanted the sentiment to have beautiful more muted colors instead of the harshness of black. I paper pierced each ray to give it a little more interest. 

On thing fun about this Tropic Topic set.. is there is an extra eye. This was made for the purpose that you can replace any of the animals with their eyes closed to having them opened.. so that's what I did.. and I love how it turned out! I used the Alphabet Soup, and Hey Cupcake for the sentiment.

On Cloud 9

When I saw the colors for the Play Date Cafe.. I knew instantly what I wanted to do.. they are so fun and fresh.. I couldn't wait to play along.. Also at CAS-ual Fridays they are having a "let's strip" challenge.. so I got the idea for the sky from them.. I really wanted to add some interest to my card, since I knew it was going to be a CAS card.. so I used felt for the clouds.. and popped the little one up on pop dots. The 9 was taken out of the strips of paper used to make the sky. I also popped the whole sky piece up so that they 9 would be shadowed.. I wanted to use the yellow under the 9 but didn't want just a plain yellow.. so I found a piece of old ledger in one of the paper packs I had. I love how it turned out.. just gives it a tiny bit more interest.. I was so inspired by one of my favorite cards ever.. from my friend BARB.. she rocked this card here... that I new right away that I wanted to case it and make it my own.. :) 

I loved the card, but felt like it needed just a little something more.. so I decided to paper pierce the edges.. giving it just a little bit more, without adding anymore color..

**The Eyes of HOPE** Special POST

This is my good friend Amy's son Drake. He is a sweetie.. Not even 2 weeks ago he was injured in a BB Gun accident, and is FIGHTING to regain the site in his left eye.

for my creation I went with the cute little stockings from the Fa-la-la set. These were so much fun to paper piece and this card really just flew by.. 

I added some fun little details.. brads, twine to this card to make it have a more "homey" feel.. :)
