Cosmo Cricket Hello Dear Friend

Hey everyone! I wanted to give you all a little update on Liberty.. She is doing much better.. :) We were having trouble getting her to urinate after her kidney reflex surgery.. but SHE IS PEEING! okay..I know that may not be a big deal to some.. but for us.. it's HUGE :) Thanks for all your thoughts prayers and well wishes..!!
-My card for you today is one that I thought of late last night before I fell asleep.. anyone else do that? Sit in bed and think of creations?:) Okay I am a Unique.. that's okay :)
All my papers are from the Cosmo Cricket collection Salt Air. (I LOVE Cosmo Cricket papers)..and these colors.. :) Cosmo Cricket is having a sketch contest going on right now too.. so I thought I would join in and use these amazing papers! :) Oh if you look at the bottom of the card.. those scallop circles float too :)
For the middle of the card I used my circle punch and made my own scallop center.. I guess you would call it.. The little white dots are .59 cent puffy paint.. (love this stuff.. ) I bent every circle to give it more texture and so it would almost fall like fabric.
The stamp "Hello dear friend" is from Unity's Could I Be Any Cuter set.. LOVE IT! I used my sewing machine and sewed around the card. Bakers twine to tie it up. Using Colorbox Cat Eye dark brown chalk ink, I distressed the card. I used stickles in the middle of the mini May Lilly prima flowers. To stamp the sentiment I used Unity's Burnt Amber ink pad.. Okay I am going to let you all in on a little secret.. shh.. don't tell.. when I was stamping my image I put to much pressure and got the "line" around the sentiment.. I was so bummed.. but knew I didn't want to make another card.. I mean.. who would want to start over right? So I placed some little white puffy paint dots on the "mistake." Who would have guessed that I LOVE how it turned out! Sometimes using our mistakes makes our creations have more interest!
Thanks for stopping by.. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.. HUGS

Hi Alison
So glad Liberty is peeing!!
Your card is amazing - wish I could come up with ideas like this just before going to sleep - lol. Love how the gorgeous papers fall and your cleverly disguised mistake is brilliant.

Just love how you shaped the circles and the puffy paint dots are quite a contrast to the colours.
Glad to hear Liberty is doing well now, fingers crossed she continues to progress :)

I love curling little bits of paper too - so I know how long this took! Very cute result! Thanks for commenting on my blog - at first I thought it was my sister - she's Alison (with one L) too!

This is absolutely breathtaking, Alison! Punching and arranging all those circles must've taken forever. I chuckled when I read about you dreaming up card designs in bed. I sometimes come up with the best ones right before I fall asleep and then have to wake up and write them down! LOL

I don't think I was following your blog when your daughter had surgery but I'm so happy to hear she is doing better!
